Your villagers are scared, constantly scared to be more accurate. And thatâs because they can see the zombie all the time. There is no mechanism to break line of sight. And because they are constantly scared, they cannot sleep. That breaks the iron farm. Temporary solution, block the zombie, let the villagers sleep, remove block(s).

If you need many zombies, do this somewhere near a zombie spawner. Both of those methods let you do this in a way that's semi-automatic. Otherwise, just stick a villager in a cage and use the trapdoor trick to lure all the zombies / zombie villagers into a pit, waterstream them into a 1x1 holding cell, and minecart every single one of them.
